Community projects funded

16 local community projects have shared in $61,000 of funding under Round 2 of the 2024/2025 Forbes Community Funding Program This initiative recognises the vital contribution that community groups and organisations play in the development of the Forbes community and its quality of life.

“We had a diverse array of organisations apply this round, and I am so pleased this program can support our community groups to do what they love.”

This funding will help some organisations with much needed equipment or bring their visions to life to continue to make a positive impact across our community,” said Forbes Shire Council Mayor, Phyllis Miller OAM.

Organisations receiving funding include the Forbes and District Tennis Club, which was awarded $5,000 cash contribution to machine groom and clean the courts to restore the surface and extend its use, as well as the CanAssist Forbes Branch who has had the fees waived for Town Hall hire in order to run its musical reciting fundraising event.

If your organisation is seeking funding for an upcoming initiative, Round 1 of the 2025/2026 program is currently accepting applications and will close on 31 July 2025.
