Australia Day Awards 2025

 The Forbes Shire Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year awards recognise and reward those Shire residents who have displayed a consistent record of excellence, who have made outstanding achievements in their field and who have made a significant contribution to our community. The awards are open to residents across the Forbes Shire.
Nominations are now open, closing on Friday 17 January 2025.

EOI Food Vendors and Buskers now open! 

Expressions of Interest for Food Vendors and Buskers are now open! Food Vendors and local performers are invited to join the community at Lions Park on Sunday 26 January from 6pm-9pm at Lions Park. Citizen of the Year Gala Dinner 

Join us for the annual Citizen of the Year Gala Dinner, this year the gala dinner will be held on Saturday 25 January 2025 from 6pm-10pm at the Forbes Town Hall.

Dress code for this event is Semi Formal. This event includes entertainment, the official ceremony and catering. The Official Ceremony will include the presentation of the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Senior Citizen of the Year award winners and nominees for our 2025 Citizens of the Year. 

This event aims to recognise residents who have made outstanding achievements in their field or who have made a significant contribution to our community.

Community Breakfast 

The annual Australia Day Breakfast will be held on Sunday 26 January 2025.

All are welcome to our community breakfast located on the picturesque lake Forbes at Lions Park from 8am-10am.

This event includes the Rotary Citizenship Awards and will kick off the community celebrations on Australia Day. The official ceremony on this event will be held at 9:15am. 

Gold coin donations to Rotary Forbes are welcomed.

Food Vans and Fireworks 

Food Vendors and Fireworks will be held from 6pm at Lions Park on Australia Day, this event will conclude with the annual Fireworks display off Battyes Bridge at 9pm!

Come down to Lions Park with your family and friends and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of food options to choose from! Food vendors will be released shortly! 

BYO chair and picnic blanket. 

Please note there will be no official ceremony at this event.
