Victoria Park

An attractive haven situated between the main shopping area and the Newell Highway, Victoria Park is faced by significant buildings on three of its four sides. They include the Town Hall, Court House, Anglican and Presbyterian churches, Police Station and the Vandenberg Hotel. The library is housed in a building fashioned from three earlier buildings: School of Arts, Literary Institute, and part of the old goal. The integrity of Victoria Square as an example of nineteenth-century municipal landscaping, providing a perfect setting for the surrounding buildings, has been successfully maintained.
