How exciting this week to see the installation of nine Claret Ash trees in Lachlan Street.
How exciting this week to see the installation of nine Claret Ash trees in Lachlan Street which will bring some much-needed shade and greenery.
These trees have been planted using an innovative irrigation system to ensure the health of both the trees and our roads. The “Soil Vaults” from Citygreen are underground systems designed specifically for trees in urban areas and have been used in other areas with great success. I’m looking forward to seeing these trees flourish as they beautify and cool down our CBD.
The planting of these trees aligns with the Forbes CBD Masterplan, and it is wonderful to see another part of that plan coming to fruition. Town beautification projects such as this really do help us to attract more visitors.
Our Multipurpose Equestrian Centre has reached another massive milestone with the roof installation completed late last week. This state-of-the-art facility, located between the Showground and Racecourse, is a highly anticipated addition to Forbes for our more than 15 equestrian groups.
We are so grateful to the NSW Government for their support of this project that will see some exciting changes in the equestrian scene here in Forbes. I am also very proud of how all of our equestrian groups have worked together with Council on this important project.
Last week the General Manager and I attended the first meeting of the Community Leaders Forum for the Central West Recovery and Resilience package.
This leader's forum is hosted by our local Member Phil Donato and is a great way for the General Manager and I to promote Forbes best interests as this funding package of $100 million for the Central West is rolled out.
Be assured that I will be working hard for Forbes and our residents who are still recovering from the floods.
Enjoy your week, and God bless.
Phyllis Miller, OAM Forbes Mayor
